An Egyptian Sunrise

A recent trip to Egypt in November 2010 included a hike up Mt. Sinai. It is believed that Moses received the 10 commandments upon this mountain which has today become a pilgrimage to many:

The 7km hike begins at midnight to reach the summit by 4am where myself and a group of friends awaited the sunrise in the freeeeezing cold.

It was an amazing journey and one of the most memorable sunsrises i have experienced.

The magic of Oia

2009 was all about Corfu and finding the birth place of my most cherished Grandmother. 2010 was more about adventure and soaking in the sun on 4 islands as a tour guide: Mykonos, Paros, Ios and the unique and memorable Santorini.

My favourite spot of the season, was without a doubt watching the sunset sink into the ocean in Oia.

2012 Artist Residencies Early 2012, I will be returning to Tasmania after 4 years abroad to undertake 2 artist residency positions. 7-19 February 2012: Cataract Gorge Residency, Launceston March-April 2012: Scotch Oakburn School, Launceston The first residency will be 2 weeks spent at the Cataract Gorge Cottage in Launceston. I have been accepted to exhibit the works created at this residency at SAWTOOTH in Launceston for all of March in their Project Space. The second residency will be working at Scotch Oakburn College during March/April where I will be teaching the students about designing and making artwork as well as continuing with my own practice.
New ENCHA works for 2011 Fresh from the studio bench, below you can see that the large leaf pendant/brooch now comes in sterling silver as well as bronze! Also there have been some new exciting pieces in the Urchin range as well... New works are now available through my online store as well as most outlets across Australia


St. Jerome's Laneway Festival 2011 I was asked by dear friend Ky Curren to create 5 t-shirts for the St. Jerome's Laneway Festival Green Room in Brisbane. Armed with 1 week, 5 shirts and puff paint - i thought I would step away from a 'screenprint' t-shirt and make a series of t-shirts that a 'jeweller' would make... 5 t-shirts with detachable brooch elements and puffpaint detail were completed just a few short days before the festival.
